What has been normal in the past, may not be normal in the future. The challenge is to make the “new normal” better than before. The pandemic has forced us to rethink the value and function of offices. The post COVID-19 office is evolving. Already we have been helping several clients from everything from:
Russell Fewins is able to offer a range of solutions which help with the Governments guidelines: social distancing; barrier protection; enhanced hygiene protocols. Social distancing is currently a 2 metre separation (without barriers) and this can be achieved by:
Work from home protocols have been tested and refines in recent weeks and this is likely to continue for many workers where this option is available. This will reduce density and enable reconfiguration in the workspace to achieve the minimum standards as defined by the Government. This is something that we have already started developing with clients. Reconfiguration is all part of space planning service. These can be achieved of course by having less density but also using elements such a storage to provide natural barriers. What is also worth highlighting is that we can implement screen barriers/attachments – which avoids businesses having to make any major changes to their office layout. To help with hygiene control many of these barriers are designed with easily cleaned smooth surfaces. Other options for offices are pods which provide privacy and protection. We have a great range to offer in this area What we can see here is that there a several options open for businesses and Russell Fewins is actively helping clients today with finding the best solution for them. We would be very happy to discuss helping you with setting up a safer workspace today. Please contact the team to learn more.
We have now had around 2 weeks of enforced home working (for many businesses) and the migration from office to home is beginning to settle down into a routine of sorts.
Already companies who have been forced into this action are monitoring the impact on work outputs and some are looking at how this may impact on their working arrangements in the future. We have spoken to a couple of clients already about plans to reorganise their offices into hot-desking setups so that they are able to offer high-quality facilities but with less space requirement and more flexibility for staff. This is not an unusual request for us but we do see this as a bit of trend which is likely to gain traction. If you would like to chat this idea through we are very happy to give you some free advice based on our own experience and in the future offer you services such as: 1) Space planning 2) Furniture audits 3) Office fit-outs including IT and comms. 4) Short or medium-term storage. 5) Clearances and recycling For more information please contact us here.
