Dulwich College - Migration Of Staff Rooms, Offices, Libraries and Classrooms, Off Site Storage, Move Management
We have worked alongside Dulwich College since they began a programme of improvements in 2014. This involved migrating entire blocks to enable refurbishment works to classrooms, offices and libraries and then returning. We were initially awarded the relocation of their Science Department into a state of the art new build science block in 2014; including specialist relocation of chemicals, laboratory and analytical equipment. Following this, to celebrate their 400th Anniversary in 2019, the College made plans to carryout a range of improvement works to their South, North and Central blocks. We were appointed in 2016 to provide move management and relocation services for this project and worked closely with the college from late 2016 until completion in late 2018. One of the highlights for this two year, eight phase migration, was in 2017 when we undertook migration of their Military Museum. This included a full packing service and storage of a wide range militaria from 18th Century uniforms to large Cannons all from a basement area with restricted access. This required a diverse set of packing, packaging, relocation equipment and expertise. A full photo inventory was taken of all items, with photographs also taken of each display prior to collection, to ensure all items were returned to original positions. In October 2018 we undertook the 8th and final phase of works; the relocation of their History Department. This included a full packing service of all class rooms and for this phase all items were moved to a temporary holding areas within the College’s campus, before being returned to original locations. Services provided included:
Risk assessment and method statements
Off site storage
CONCLUSION All relocation services were successfully undertaken on time and on budget.
